The era of Ed Reed, James Harrison, Ray Lewis and Troy Polamalu, was some of the best years of football. Some of the best talent I've seen in my lifetime.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh. Troy ignited my love for football and the NFL. My all time favorite player. I had a jersey as a kid. My family dog growing up was purchased one day before the Seahawks vs Steelers Superbowl. His middle name was Troy.

It's easy to watch highlights of Troy Polamalu and see that he was great, but he's the kind of player that, once you understand football better, he becomes truly special.  You realize that there's no reason for him to do a lot of the things he does, but they wind up resulting in big plays.  He's very spiritual and his teammates would joke that Jesus would whisper in his ear what play the offense was going to run because his instincts were incredible and he just always seemed to know where to be.

Naw y'all need to truly understand what he was doing was unheard of. From predicting what the offense was about to do, to knowing the quarterback snap count and ending the play before it even began. Always around the football no matter the situation. True definition of free safety

He was amazing to watch. I'm 49er fan, but I will always show respect for greatness no matter what team they play for.

Finally! Thanks for watching Troy highlights. He was a Samoan Warrior on the field but a soft spoken gentleman off the field. Also, check out his Head and Shoulders commercials they’re hilarious😂

It was such an honor and a privilege to watch this man play football. He was like a linebacker who could play safety. Watching him jump snaps on a blitz, watching him be in the perfect place for the interception… what a generational talent.

I miss him so much! As a Steelers fan for over 50 years! His heritage is American Samoan. He was amazing. Right away you mentioned his hair - he still has a contract with Head and Shoulders shampoo for commercials and ads. He wasn't only an amazing player but a very nice and humble guy. 🏈🖤💛

Troy was also allowed to roam free. Everyone else had a play, but he was just everywhere.
