If you want to use live baits/store bought baits for perch, small/medium golden shiners, fathead minnows, crayfish tails “crab tails”, and raw shrimp meat works great under bobbers , or fished off the bottom with a split shot sinker or slip sinker rig. A size 6 hook does the trick , sometimes using a chartreuse, orange, or gold hook can help get a few more bites. Basic live bait fishing techniques! But it’s rare you’ll ever need to buy minnows or shrimp/crab tails when these fish are so willing to hit artificial lures. But sometimes the live bait outproduces artificials. But with only a 5 fish limit to fill, a jig/plastic, small spoon, or crankbait like you see in this video will seal the deal.
