What a beautiful performance! Words fail me. Dolphy and Richard Davis. Unbelievable. I'm just overwhelmed by this one. Thank you.

Nothing more breathtaking than hearing the master’s authoritativeness. He really knew how to use ‘outside’ sounds in the context of chord changes, and such a great manner of mixing the inside and out, the melodic phrases and the bursts of ‘noise’. This is the ever burning bonfire, sonic nutrients for the soul.

Whooooooooooow!!!! Hancock. Miles, who disliked Dolphy, later added Hancock and Tony, whom Dolphy had discovered, to his own band. Eddie like a Booker Little.
