  I don&apos;t suck at making things, I suck at actually finishing them.<br>I can fuse my perfectionism with my procrastination to become someone who constantly worries about the quality of my work that I haven&apos;t even started.

  The more you learn about any creative field, the more you realize how difficult it is, and how much of a miracle anything of any good quality is ever even made at all.

  &quot;the alternative is Nothing&quot; is probably the best answer I&apos;ve found to a question I&apos;ve been thinking about with creativity for a little bit. Like, you ask yourself &quot;why make anything?&quot; and common answers might be money, or so you can share it. But that&apos;s no good because you can&apos;t count on either of those things. In fact you should probably assume neither of them will happen. The overwhelming likelihood is that no one will see it, no one will buy it. So it&apos;s better to assume that. Another popular answer is &quot;make art for yourself&quot; but the response to that is, why not just keep it in your head where it&apos;s perfect forever? Well the alternative is nothing. the alternative is you&apos;ve made nothing.

  While everyone has a different process, every creator is familiar with the shifting cycle of &quot;am i washed?&quot; to &quot;wait i&apos;m goated&quot; that you go through about 10x with any given project.

  We have pretty different processes but also a lot of similarities, which makes sense cause you&apos;re one of my faves and i know you influence my style.

  There&apos;s a phrase in writing, &quot;Kill your darlings.&quot; When I started as a writer I thought it meant kill your characters (the person who coined it was Stephen King). But it really means cut out all the stuff that you love that is dragging the writing down. Have you been keeping a scene in because you love it? Or because it helps the story? It&apos;s hard, but it&apos;s great editing advice.

  Idk how feasible it is, but i much prefer these ramble style vids when its done live. Seeing the occasional back and forth with chat leading to a more personal angle being taken makes it so much more interesting.
