  Funnily enough, the "transdimensional bubbles" make sense. The lore implies that all carpet cleaners are retaining their memories between loops, and that the dark shop is run by them. So they would remember how much currency you have with them, even after a loop. Where as the normal bubbles come from customers that don't remember you cleaning their carpet in previous loops
