People constantly put down older homes, but the paper mache new construction is absolutely horrible.

Coming from a different perspective. I’m medically disabled and retired at 56. Renting a room Near Old Town Manassas. 900 a month in a single family home. I’m friends with the owner. There’s no way I could live around here without the situation I am in living off disability and a modest pension. I have watched since 2008 when I first arrived here. A girlfriend of mine had some relatives that had a house in Vienna and I went to Christmas celebration 2010 with her. It was a Cuccinelli politician. In the garage was a Porche Panamerican. As well as a Lamborghini SUV. The roast beef was tough and cold. The wine sucked, it was too dry. Her and I couldn’t wait to get the f out of there. Unfortunately she passed away, my dream girl Lynn.

I grew up off of Clifton Road. Learning to drive on the back roads prepared me for pretty much everything. I loved it!

Most new construction is crap! You can have it. I'll take an old house any day.

I mainly grew up in Prince William County. I know the area very well. Gainesville is nice but too congested for me. We moved south in 2021 and love having land and our homestead. We commute but it is worth it.

This videos is All so true and the market is pricing it all in. Buyers make Trade offs between prices, commute, conveniences, age of home, and schools. It’s a very competitive market

Stafford County’s biggest con for living there is I-95 being always backed up in Stafford and those who work in DC living in Stafford cannot always use the 95 and 395 Express Lanes over how pricey they are in time and distance unless they end up slugging which lets them avoid the toll and use the lanes. It is the non-HOV that gets the disadvantage of traffic or tolls, while HOV can skip traffic and tolls due to the distance from Stafford to DC. Also, if these people have Costco memberships and they shop at Costco, what Costco do these people normally go to, as there is no Costco in Stafford, particularly around Exits 140 and 143 west of I-95?

It interesting you talk about having a Herndon address without living in the town limits. Here in NC, you can live in the same city but be in one of two or even three counties. As an example, Chapel Hill has parts in Durham County and parts in Orange County…all with their own tax rates, etc.

I have to disagree. I remember when Gainesville was the center of two country roads with a country store.<br>Now it's urban sprawl with too much traffic.
