  I grew up going to this Schlitterbahn every summer in the 90s. I went before the new park was built, and I was there on the second weekend of it opening. It's good to see not much has changed other than some theming. I hope to visit again someday as a middle aged adult. I can swim up to the bars this time lol. Thanks for sharing.

  Fun fact: The Dragon Blaster is the worlds first water coaster (goes uphill as well as down).

  This was the park I grew up going to. Would get summer passes each year and go 2-3 times a week. Definitely got spoiled having it near me. So many great memories

  As someone who has worked multiple seasons at Schlitterbahn as Park Service it always makes me smile to see videos like this! I'm glad you had a great time, luckily this year The Falls was up and running as the year before it was down all season due to mechanical issues. Wasserbahn Racer isn't new but a ride with a new name, although I can't recall the old  name as it was German and not along my usual route for cleaning unless I was stationed at the end of cliffhanger to gather any tubes left at the end.

  Schlitterbahn is a great waterpark. Its biggest flaw is it’s just such a mess of a layout…and having to cart from one side to the other kind of sucks…but aside from that, it’s a lot of fun.

  We went to Schlitterbahn 30-ish years ago. Loved it!!  ❤🎉   But i had no idea that they had expanded, so thanks for this video!  I'm definitely gonna have to visit again!  ❤

  Glad you finally got to go, I grew up with Schlitterbahn! Amazing how this waterpark has grown from a cult Texas gem to consistently voted top (or at minimum top 3) waterpark in the country almost every year. I'm with you, the tube chutes are what make it special, there is nothing like the older section of the park anywhere else that I can think of. The innovative use of the river and the river valley are truly unique and definitely what make the park stand out. Also cool how they are easily the most innovative park in waterparks. Dragon Blaster was the world's first water coaster and they took that technology all over the world. ProSlides (a company I'm not wholly a fan of) definitely stole the idea for their version but I'll take the water jets over the magnetic driven climbs all day. It's just too bad the background story of the family that opened and ran it for so long is so tragic. The KC accident was horrifying and it's compounding effects on the chain and the people involved were also sad. After selling off the Galveston park, this one's back to being the only official Schlitterbahn again and that's probably for the best.

  Went to New Braunfels late 70s earlly 80s before all the crouds and commercialization.  Remember riding a truck tire tube down the quadalupe in a pair of cutoff jeans and the water was so clear.
