Woah I'm early! The Piedmont truly is a model for mid to large states wanting Intercity train service, and I especially like the state owned right of way model that allows for expanded passenger train service and infrastructure upgrades. The Piedmont will be among the state supported routes to receive the new Airo equipment, so hopefully the ride experience can improve! I have a feeling the vintage equipment will be missed though!

A whale known for not doing their research goes somewhere known for their research?! That's what I call CHARACATER DEVELOPMENT

Raleigh Union Station in 2018 was part of a big improvement program for the Piedmont corridor that also included adding five miles of passing sidings between Raleigh and Greensboro, adding 27 miles of a parallel track between Greensboro and Charlotte (making the entire segment between Greensboro and Charlotte double-tracked), building 13 bridges to carry roadways over or under railroad tracks, installing remote-controlled high-speed switches in five locations, renovating stations in Cary, High Point, Burlington and Kannapolis, and closing more than 40 railroad crossings!

That's the power of owning your right-of-way, and having politicians who'll fight for what's right!

They’re building a new Charlotte station. It will have connections to bus, light rail, and taxi services. The project is called the Charlotte Gateway Station. NCDOT also recently received a 300 million grant for the rail corridors.

I’m glad people are taking interest in our state’s rail projects. The more attention and public support they get, the better. Thank you!

My dad was the head of the rail division of the NCDOT in the mid-90s and traveled the country looking for those cars! We got to watch the transformation to the way they look today. It was exciting to see them come to life. My dad's a train host now and really enjoys getting to continue to ride the rails!

North Carolina is proof that this can be done literally in any state! If you build it they will come 🚊

It would be great to have rail connections from Wilmington to Asheville. Especially if they could also work in a connection to Greenville and Boone.

Hey looks who got here early, anyway this service like most State Supported Services this route has so much potential for expansion, I just hope they can improve local transit connections especially in Charlotte

this train save my butt after a 5 hour delay in munich, i landed in charlotte too late for the person who was going to pick me up to take me to Raleigh,

so I took the train the next day, cheaper than renting a car even with the night in a hotel, and still cheaper than driving myself and paying for parking, seriously amazing service
