  I mean Halo 3’s marketing in many ways decided how companies would advertise video games and even movies forever after. That idea of turning your product’s release into an “event” seems so second nature these days and we’re so burnt out of it and it all started here. Still worked though.

  Every once in a while, in a small town out of the way, you’ll find a GameStop that still has it’s Master Chief windows. A solemn reminder of a better, bygone era.

  My GameStop kept the Halo 3 display up until it closed down earlier this year. The marketing campaign was maybe the most successful ever

  My brother worked at a movie rental store and they allowed staff to borrow movies early so they could answer customer questions and give reviews, and they had just started doing game rentals. My brother raced to my friend&apos;s party, &quot;we need to go home right now.&quot; &quot;Nah, I&apos;m having a great time.&quot; &quot;I got Halo early...&quot; &quot;...I&apos;llseeyouguyslaterbye!!!&quot; It was maybe 2 days early but damn, it felt like we&apos;d cracked the code or broke into Area 51 and it was magical.
