It's funny they sent you two of every drum except the kick which is the only one you might want 2 of😂

I never thought of Alesis as being a budget brand for drums. For keyboards, definitely on the lower mid-tier but for drums, they've been one of the more cutting edge brands for el drums. Not as expensive as Roland for sure, but they were always introducing new tech and innovating.

I recently brought the Alesis Nitro Ultimate XL which is much more budget that this, but doesn't feel budget. Am very impressed with it, especially when plugged into BFD drums sounds amazing.

I have a smaller, actual Budget Alesis kit. I really like the mesh heads, but everyone is doing that now. You can even get a 150$ kit that fits on a snare stand that has a Mesh snare drum that feels just like all the other Mesh head e-drums.

Where they all need to invest, and some have started, is the cymbals. I haven't tried out the 3 brands I have seen of metal e-cymbals, yet. I did get a cymbal trigger that bolts onto one of those 'quiet cymbals' with all the holes in them. It works okay, but not as good as one would want. If you hit the opposite side of the cymbal it is super quiet.

I love my acoustic kit, it is just too loud and too big for our small house. (until all the kids move out, to your point)

I know literally nothing about drum kits but I was really impressed by the cymbals! The way they reacted so dynamically to where you hit them, with how much force, the different sounds they produce, and even the fact that you can dampen them with your hand. As an electronic piece of equipment, it seems really impressive to me!

This video is amazing, loving the energy, this is probably my dream drum kit that I want to get as I gradually build my drumming skills.
