Boise State were huge underdogs. A small school against a national powerhouse. Greatest football game ever.

The context here is important. This was a post-season game that would normally host only powerhouse teams. Boise State is a small school overachiever. No one gave them much of a chance, Oklahoma is a blueblood traditional football powerhouse and they were supposed to dog-walk underdog Boise. Instead, Boise came to play, refused to give up, controlled big portions of the game, and wound up winning the most exciting game of football I ever saw

This was one of the biggest Bowl Game upsets in College Football history my G. You have no idea how big of a loss this was for Oklahoma. I don't believe they've truly ever recovered from it fully.

The second person can’t move until the first player has stopped and set.

The Hook & Ladder, a Halfback pass, and The Statue of Liberty play for the win... Three iconic trick plays all called in one game. It's one of the things that made this such a memorable game. Also, a young Adrian Peterson at RB for Oklahoma. He would go on to become one of the greatest RBs in NFL history.

The balls on Coach Petersen to call a hook and ladder on 4th and 18 to go to overtime and a Statue of Liberty to win the game.

Just found your channel today and commented on the Michigan facility reaction that you should check out University of Oklahoma facity, then the next video I pick is this one! As a sooner it was hard to watch 19 years ago and a little hard to watch right now, but it was a great game overall.
I'm enjoying your channel and seeing as I am older than you, (husband and I are in our early fifties) I find you observations and comments insightful and your questions articulate and understandable.
The running back in this game for OU Adrian Peterson as well as the quarterback Sam Bradford both went into the NFL and did well. Sam was drafted by the Rams first round. He played for them 2010 - 2014 and won rookie of The year his first year.
I believe you said your NFL team was the rams, so there is some history for you
On a personal note I played soccer (sorry just convenient and habit to say soccer, x beside Brits called it soccer first and changed to football mid 20th century. True you can look it up ) from age 5 -17 (through highschool) I was a right fullback and subed as a right Wing back on occasion. I also appreciate architecture so based on all that I have subscribed!
Next goal get my husband to check you out and subscribe as wel. Keep it up man, your doing well. Best of luck and ill tell friends and share your content to try to help and keep you goimg! Will probably comment again sometime, so "see ya then"
