  This video is a bit misleading about Robinson’s early career, so I’ll break it down a bit:<br><br>Robinson won the first 40 fights of his career. 40-0. <br><br>In his 41st fight, Robinson lost to Jake Lamotta, who outweighed him considerably in that fight. Robinson was then 40-1. <br><br>After losing to Lamotta, Robinson went 89-0-2, 89 wins with 2 draws…a record-setting 91-fight UNBEATEN streak—top three HIGHEST in all of boxing history! Robinson’s record in 1951 was: 129-1-2…129 wins, 1 loss, 2 draws! Unreal. This is why Floyd’s 50-0 is not as valuable or incredible—Floyd just didn’t fight enough. 50 fights in 20 years is too little. <br><br>Robinson’s unbeaten streak was broken by Randy Turpin in 1951 in London as the last of 7 fights, in 4 different countries, in only 50 DAYS for Robinson! Read that again! Ray Robinson fought 7 title defenses, in 4 different countries, in only 50 DAYS, and won the first 6 fights, and finally lost the 7th fight in London to Randy Turpin! Crazy. Robinson’s record was then 129-2-2. <br><br>3 months later, on September 12th, 1951, Robinson earned his rematch with Turpin, and the fight was scheduled to take place in NYC. Robinson was cut badly and was allowed only one final round to win his title back, or suffer back-to-back losses to Turpin, this time by a cut. Robinson responded by KO’ing Turpin in the 10th of 15 rounds to earn his title back! Robinson’s record in 1951 was 130-2-2. <br><br>GOAT STATUS.

  Sugar Ray Robinson is what you get when you combine the athleticism and speed of Muhammad Ali, one punch knockout power in both hands of Iron Mike Tyson and the boxing IQ of The Brown Bomber Joe Louis. I suggest checking out Joseph Vincent’s video about Joe, he is held up as one of the top 10 hardest punchers in the Heavyweight division while being able to spot your weakness after a light spar….then knock you out. This vid is what I quote whenever some young blood wants to say that they’re the best that ever was, Sugar Ray was sweet with them punches.
