How To Prepare For and Pass Your Electrical Exam

  When I took my TX journeyman’s exam I dedicated one entire week trying to organize the proper order of material to study. The NEC could be extremely confusing for lots of people, and I understood that and wanted to make sure that didn’t apply to me. Here’s what I did. <br><br>Electrical theory (2 books) <br>Bonding and grounding (1 book) <br>Electrical exam prep (1 book) <br>Basic motor controls (1 book) <br>Practical calculations (1 book) <br>Journeyman exam questions (1 book) <br>Read the code book everyday <br><br>It took me 3 months, 2 hours a day, every single day. NO EXCUSES <br><br>FYI my boos told me “you can’t pass it, it’s a hard exam” I took it VERY personal. Got an 82 and immediately sent the results to him without saying anything but this “easy exam, if I had another week I would definitely get 100” 😂 <br><br>That morning I drank a monster energy drink and I was playing Metallica and Led Zeppelin on my way to the exam. <br><br>Good luck to everyone

  I like how when Mike holt starts going into physical health. He’s not trying to bash people with it but he lets it be known how important it is

  I passed my exam for the master license with that book 2020 very good book thank you mike holt

  Mike, thanks for lifting up our entire industry. That career changing moment came for me in 2009 when I passed the NJ licensing exam. Once an electrician decides “this is my career, not just a job” everything changes and gets better. But education never stops and that’s we’re considered professionals in the industry. I wish every electrician took 35 minutes of their life to watch this video and take it all in.

  if anyone is wondering about getting the exam prep 100% is a must for anyone that values their time. Mike holts books has helped me understand the things that just were not registering with me. The illustrations helped me so much honestly that was a great idea to incorporate the them. I have both the illustrated guide to understanding the nec and the examination prep . Amazing products !

  crazy how well youve taken care of yourself mike! you look 20 years younger than your age for real. ive been studying 8 hours a day for the past few months, and i know exactly what you mean when you said your mind has to be right. i woke up one day and looked in the mirror and told myself i Want me proud of me and ive been on go mode since! amazing video. All your products are absolutely &nbsp;amazing and has helped me tremendously.

  Having your eyes checked is important advice. I think many people don&apos;t realize that their eyesight is bad. It took me years and a realization to start wearing my glasses full-time.
