Countess Almina was used to spending other people's money, and ran her own hospital. She was clearly a worthy forerunner of modern National Health Service administrators.

Robert Sawyer died in 1769. The image is of a figure in mid 18th century costume. So far so good. The narrator says the estate then passed to his nephew, Henry Herbert. The image shown is of a figure in 16th century costume.
Obviously sometime between Robert and Henry, Highclere Castle fell into a timewarp or timeslip, and plunged 200 years into the past.

Weird place, Hampshire.

Highclere Castle (often referred to as Highclere House) is situated in the county of Hampshire. Located in the northern part of the county near the Berkshire border.. Although it has a Newbury (Berkshire) postal address (Post Code) the 5,000-acre estate is legally within Hampshire.

John Buchan did NOT write the book "Dorian Gray". As every school boy knows it was written by Oscar Wilde.

The big staircase looks a bit like the one on the Titanic, currently at the bottom of the North Atlantic.

Really enjoyed your video but i think you made a little mistake you was saying it was the 5th Earl then saying the 6th Earl. Its not a problem to me but might confuse some people 😊

I thought this property was situated near Newbury in Berkshire. Not Hampshire.

Domesday book is pronounced 'doomsday'. I live in New Zealand and I still know that. I wonder what else is mispronounced. On saying that, it's not the end of the world. Just trying to be helpful. Great video 😊

Repetitive narration and a focus on the “invisible workers”

The late queen spent a LOT of time with her horse trainer the 7th Earl, "Porchey," and not just in the late 60s. It was earlier than that. He was rumoured to be the REAL father of her favourite son, currently in internal exile in wildest Norfolk.
It figures. Andrew always behaved more like a crazy spendthrift aristocrat, than a dutiful, disciplined Windsor Mountbatten. Certain behavioural traits are inherited.
