  The part about one partner carrying everything while the other chases victories landed harder than expected. it&apos;s not absence, it&apos;s selective presence that does the damage. when someone is emotionally checked out but physically there, the other person learns to perform okayness because asking for acknowledgment starts to feel like begging. that&apos;s the disconnect that builds quietly for years, and at some point you stop knowing whether you stopped asking because you healed or because you gave up. that part doesn&apos;t really resolve cleanly, and that&apos;s the mechanism whether you like it or not.

  I started watching this for the marriage part, but am pausing to say how encouraged and convicted and <b>no more words</b> I am but they’re sharing on how they handled his parents’ treatment/behaviour. We are facing this with family and it has been soo hard emotionally, and yes spiritually. Yesterday I was reminded at BSF to not stand on my own two feet but to trust in God (and wait for his timing vs trying to push through my way impatiently), and today this with the Romans verse I am familiar with but to hear it practiced is a different level of conviction and encouragement.
