As a 39 year veteran truck driver who's been to 47 of the 48 contiguous states i contend Pittsburgh has the most dramatic entrance of any metro area in the U.S. Approaching from the south going north on I-376 you enter a tunnel that goes through a hill and under a neighborhood. When you exit the tunnel on the north end, POW! You're on the Fort Pitt Bridge with the beautiful skyline before you and 3 Rivers Stadium on your left.

The way he casually offered work to that guy at the end was awesome.

I came from Taiwan for my PhD at CMU between 2013 and 2017, and then moved to other big cities, e.g., Bay Area and Los Angeles. Pittsburgh stands a unique place. I married and got two kids born in Pittsburgh. The community in the city is so friendly in general. I hope that I can eventually find a nice job in Pittsburgh and spend rest of life there.

I am from India and I lived in Squirrel Hill neighbourhood of Pittsburgh from 2015-2019 as a PhD student at CMU. I feel nostalgic when I see this - the natural beauty, the different seasons, the accepting people, the relatively low cost of living given the facilities, the proximity to major cities. I went to Miami after that, followed by returning back to India. Now I realize how good Pitt really was.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh and I can confidently say after traveling the country that Pittsburgh is a gem. The natural beauty of the appalachians mixed perfectly with the city and three rivers.

I’ve lived in Puerto Rico, San Francisco and many other “unique” places in the states. Pittsburgh is BY FAR, -topographically speaking-, the most beautiful city I’ve ever seen. 400+ bridges? That downtown point where the rivers converge? The old neighborhoods, the hills and vistas ……? Just from an aesthetic point of view, there is no city as lovely as this, in my view. So much do I admire it that even though I live in California, i just bought a house near Morgantown West Virginia just to be within 90 minutes of Pitt. Why WV? Low taxes, lower cost of living and I got an incredible historical home for $200K that would go for 1.2 million in california. Humanity always thinks the grass is greener elsewhere. We never think our home is special, until someone else tells us the treasure it is, … warts and all.

My grandfather worked at US Steel. I’ve lived in Pittsburgh all of my life. Great video and we need more people like Brian, he did us proud! Thx Peter.

Pete is killing it in PA recently. From Kensington, to middle of nowhere Amish/centraila to the steel city. The USA has a lot of offer.

Pittsburgh native here. Thanks for coming to our city. Like every other city, we’ve been through booms and busts but in the end I think the real story of Pittsburgh is our resilience and our ability to adapt. We embody the American spirit, a true melting pot.

Peter, if you ever come back this way and need a guide, I’d love to show you some of the historic places and people that made this city what it is.

Thanks again!
