I have three MOTU interfaces: the MOTU 8pre-es, MOTU LP32, and MOTU UltraLite-mk5. I am happy with them.

so which other interface lets you run plugins in realtime on its hardware ?

Yea but your computer still can’t print the effects from the plugins if you had any on in real time like UAD hardware can. That was more of the point amongst other things. I still have my 8p black edition and use it all the time. It’s a great box.

Not me, I never bought into the whole UAD thing.

That their boxes were quite limited on computing power by today's standard was never a secret. They were a godsend, when home computers were slow. Especially laptops were once a problem. But that was twenty to fifteen years ago. Today most stuff runs in the computer and only the real time critical or the special one plugin you really, really wanted run on their box.

right now Apollo twin is $999, for the same price you can get a real analogue brand new 1073 preamp + LA-3A compressor from Goldent Age. And I don't even wanna talk about the used market. You can buy a lot of real shit instead of that fake emulation.

You weren't there at the time you could barely run a few natives vst's before your cpu hit 100% load, were you?<br>Of course, now it's totally different, but back then, dsp cards were really handy.

You don't pay for the hardware but for all the development invested on what is possible to make with it. Even so, the products of UA are totally overpriced.

These are untrue claims. I have first gen Apollo twin and track 24+ mixing sessions with an average of 3 plugins per track. Mbp with M3, 36 Gb ram. Never a problem
