  Gather a small group (10 - 15 ) people.  Whisper an exact sentence into the ear of the person on your right. Have that person whisper the exact words to the person on their right. At the end, see what you get back.  Now place the time frame between the hearing and the final telling; say 100 years, and see what you get back. That's approximately the time frame for the Gospels, between the event and the writing of the gospel. You will never receive back what you started with.  That's human fallibility. Even if the gospels are divinely inspired, they still went through human hands. Even in a court of law today, eyewitness testimony is rarely taken as fact without additional evidence. This is an exercise used by small-group facilitators to demonstrate a point concerning human fallibility.

  There were two others crucified with Jesus who went through precisely the same experience. Except for the crown of thorns, Jesus received no special. treatment.<br>It is interesting to note the festival visitor impressed at random to carry Jesus&apos; cross for him whose name and place of origin are, somehow, known to the Markan author - as well as the names of his two sons, &nbsp;Rufus and Alexander. It&apos;s almost as if they were pals of the author who thought they might get a kick out of having their father play a part in his Passion Play.<br>It was necessary for the author of &quot;Mark&quot; to have his Jesus die prematurely, he had a schedule to keep - the body claimed, entombed (not buried) before sunset , so that his Jesus, like Paul&apos;s Christ, could &quot;rise again the third day&apos;.

  Another aspect I have wonder about is what wood could of been used in that time period... and the depth necessary to stabilize itself plus the load added to the center of gravity,? And the terrain supporting that postil structure, Seems obvious that cross wasn&apos;t stuck in a pile of sand, A hole into a granite mountain would suffice, but there is a minimums necessary in order to support such, Sand of course would require a back-fill, Granite would seemingly require an amount of skill to produce a cavity at just the exacting measurements necessary to fit a post that&apos;s deep enough, without any shimming necessary to aid in its upright posture, meaning that a requirement of lining that cross up to the hole in the ground would take a scaffolding or similar device to aid at the upper portion, a leveraging area not possible at the lower section, I don&apos;t care how many 60 ton blocks were moved, they were moved by having control of they&apos;re center of gravity, without that, you ain&apos;t going nowhere

  Easter is pagan holiday. Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon of Spring. We are not celebrating the resurrection, we are celebrating the coming of Spring.

  i just listen to an AI Neil deGrasse Tyson describe a time period for the arrest trial and crucifixion of Jesus some things like the arrest of Jesus could not at least for me taken more that half an hour and also he mention the crowd &nbsp;witch i don&apos;t think was a factor in slowing down Jesus and the soldiers it was night so most must have been sleeping &nbsp;and the &nbsp;people at that time walk all the time they were use to it not like us today lol so I imagine they could make good time &nbsp;... For the trial no one knows how long that took ..The beating that Jesus took is described in &nbsp;Isaiah 52:14 John 19:1 and in the other 3 gospels &nbsp;no wonder he needed someone to help him carry the cross ..The ones that where at the crucifixion was Jesus Mother Mary her Sister, the Apostle John &nbsp; &nbsp;Mary Magdalene , &nbsp;but not all the same in all 4 gospels ... &nbsp;Now about Joseph of Arimathea he was in Jerusalem not at the site of the crucifixion he was told &nbsp;of Jesus death went to pilate to ask for the body of Jesus &nbsp;bought the linens then went to where Jesus &nbsp;had already been taken down from the cross, Joseph did not have to go from the crucifixion to buy the linens or wait for the body of Jesus to be taken down from the cross much less time then what we heard from AI Neil .. Now about the darkness I believe that was a supernatural event caused by God The Father as was the veil of the temple split from top to bottom and &nbsp;an earthquake ..One thing no one seems to notice is jesus said he would be in the grave 3 days 3 nights Matthew 12:40 the only sign he gave us that he was our Savior, if we deny that we deny Jesus and what he said &nbsp; How can we explain a Good friday burial before sunset &nbsp;and believe he rose Easter sunday &nbsp;that&apos;s only 1 day 2 nights something &nbsp;wrong here well let me explain Jesus was crucified on Wednesday the next day was a High Day a Sabbath that comes once a year ask any Jew he will tell you &nbsp;now if we count &nbsp;wednesday night thursday all day thursday night friday all day friday night saturday all day he rose saturday at sunset not a minute before or after count it 3 days 3 nights &nbsp;on sunday morning when mary Magdalene went to the tomb the angel told her he had already risen .. Remember Easter is a pagan holiday it celebrates the Goddess Ester &nbsp;that should be clear to anyone who believes in the words of God .. May God Bless You All

  Of course if Joseph of A did manage to get JC into his tomb by sunset, perhaps Jesus was not fully dead. He was an Essene. They drugged him with wine. Put him in the tomb and the Essenes (dressed in their usual white robes) and removed him to the Dead Sea where he was seen afterwards. The Essenes were mistaken for Angels.

  Respect! Humility! Intellectual honesty! &nbsp;Fidelity to the values claimed by science, but -- as many, many scientists have learned the hard way and many others, shaking their heads, admitted -- are honored nore often in the breach than the observance. I already loved and respected Neil just for his combination of humor, shining inteellect, and frank embrace of awe at the magnificence of reality. This presentation is a distillation of all those sterling traits.

  It&apos;s good that the different accounts are different because that shows what happens in reality when you get different witnesses to any event after the fact. Things might have happened differently over a different timeline than all accounts describe but that&apos;s not what&apos;s important to the crucifiction of Christ, which even historians of that time agree with as fact..

  I enjoyed this presentation, As getting to the only thing that exist, is not that complicated, It is a matter of Faith, My Faith only excepts Truth, As only Truth exist, How can a non Truth be anything, when it never was in the first place, How can nothing exist ? impossible... Do all Truths only enter the mind,? Only Truths will reason out why they belong, Non Truths dissipate as fast as they were never born in the first place, non Truths are manufactured, non Truth has to be volleyed from ear to mouth, Imagine living all your life, without an ounce of Truth in your soul...

He assumes modern legal procedure<br>Roman trials were fast, brutal, and often completed within hours.<br><br>3. He assumes one calendar<br>The Gospels use two calendars, resolving the Passover timing tension.<br><br>4. He assumes compressed events<br>But the harmonized timeline shows:<br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp;Arrest: 10 p.m.–12 a.m.<br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp;Jewish trials: 12–5 a.m.<br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp;Roman trials: 5–8 a.m.<br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp;Crucifixion: 9 a.m.–3 p.m.<br><br> &nbsp; &nbsp;Burial: 3–6 p.m.<br><br>This is 15–18 hours, not the “few hours” Tyson imagines.<br><br>5. He overlooks night‑day reckoning<br>In Jewish reckoning, Nisan 14 begins at sunset, giving a full night + full day.
