  the somertan man case was actually solved not too long ago. His name was Carl "charles" Webb. His story is actually a pretty sad one... as he had no close family to him and when he passed away no one knew that he was gone, no one sent out a missing person for him, no one asked about his whereabouts, nothing... from what I've seen and read about him he was just a regular guy who liked writing and reading.
