I'm truly awed by these findings; I always wonder how in the world did they do those pastorals without being above them?

A great mosaic floor is in our library. It was covered for years with an orange indoor outdoor carpet. Perhaps it was a good choice it saved the floor.
The town was primarily immigrants from Italy.
It's beautiful.

So....some romans did (or paid artists to do) a mosaic of their history, while british historians help uncover it as apart of THEIR history. Thats pretty amazing

At some point, in the late 5th or 6th century, as this Roman home collapsed Britons or Saxons must have come along and built fires on these extraordinary floors, taking shelter in the decaying remnants. What must they have thought? Would they have known of the Romans some 100 or 150 years before them? Did they share stories of the “ancestral tribes” who could do amazing things, just as we do now? Or did they just not care? These were just strange places found in their travels?

So what happened to the mosaic? Did they lift it or cover it?

Clearly unique to the world of education; an instructor that could make paint drying a leading course in any university.
