Dead to Right is basically "But what if this hardboiled John Woo cop had a pooch ? Everyone loves doggies !" .

“Has there ever been a game series you’ve always considered yourself a fan only to realise only 1 entry is worth caring about” Yes that franchise is FEAR

The best part across them all is the goodest boy being the baddest boy out there.

Funnily enough, Reckoning is so short that they have a bonus game mode that's just playing through the entire campaign with one life.

I grew up playing this game for a good while. I was around 7 years old, and I remember playing with my dad. When we got to Mayor Pinnacle, he was stuck on this boss for a good week or 2. After beating him, he got stuck on Fahook before calling it quits and I ended up finding out how to beat. I myself beat the game and I have really good memories of the og ps2 game. I had no idea there was a sequel or even a reboot until some years ago. This whole video inadvertently admits that the series peaked with its first entry never to be recaptured.

The game even has some fun trivia. The composer of the first game? Same composer for Invader Zim and Ultimate Spider-Man. There’s more Invader Zim than the latter, they both came out the same time roughly and you can hear the industrial bits in some of the DTR ost.

DTR has a weird voice cast, Chris Bruno the VA for Jack in the first game has little to no voice over work yet manages to really play the nonchalant witty goof cop really well. Feels more in tune to a personality compared to Steve Blum’s Jack Slate.

So one video actually enlightened me to some things about Dead to Rights 2 that the game unfortunately never tells its players:

- You actually move faster than you did in the first game and your lock-on can snap to targets on your side rather than just in front of you, so actually diving into crowds is much less of a death sentence
- You can lock on to enemies while rolling rather than just diving, so you can use the roll as a distance-closer
- Crouching behind cover actually works, and there's a lot of it
- Your vaulting move can also be used to climb onto cover and give you a spot to dive off of for a longer shoot dodge
- Shadow exists as a physical being in the game space rather than just an instakill button, so he can funnel enemies for flanking
- Enemies flinch when shot, so just scoring hits gives you more options for evasion
- You can store explosive canisters to use like grenades rather than having to use them in the moment like in the first game
- You can disarm enemies without needing to be empty-handed
- DISARMING ENEMIES COMPLETELY RECHARGES YOUR FOCUS

One day in 2017 I was working at GameStop, and I opened a box of inventory. In the box was a couple copies of Dead To Rights, SSX 3 and Morrowind. I was so confused.
