the first DKC game over screen had to be the darkest. DK and Diddy both injured badly and looking at the player like they blaming you for what happened to them.

Fun fact: If you press the buttons on the SNES controller on DKC3’s Game Over screen you can make the letters bounce

DKC 1's game over screen will never NOT be terrifying.

The original DKC one genuinely upset me as a young kid. Like the game way saying “look at what you did to those poor animals”. Still very somber for a Nintendo game.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzbrul1F6Ac&t=74">1:14</a> This was the scariest when it was displayed on the full screen of the TV when I was little.

That DK scream at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzbrul1F6Ac&t=433">7:13</a> was later re-used in Mario Kart Wii.

The DKC games are just so unnerving. Maybe it's something about the darker colors, the "3d" visuals or the music, but they give off such an eerie aura. Especially the DKC3 game over screen.

I NEVER thought I'd miss the Kremlings; considering the Game Overs for the original Country Trilogy and 64......
