  When I was 24/25 I moved into my flat, the first day I&apos;d only been in for 5 mins when there was a knock on my door and that&apos;s when I met my neighbour Agnes. She introduced herself and said - &apos;I know moving in can be difficult so hopefully this helps!&apos; - she handed me a bag that contained tea, coffee, milk &amp; biscuits ! At the time she was 72 and for the next 17/18 years Agnes was my best friend/2nd mother/confidante/advisor - she even read-up and watched football so she always had something to talk about with me !. I was broken-hearted when she passed away but I take heart that I was holding her hand on her last breath - RIP. Agnes - you&apos;re still sadly missed. 😊

  As an old lady who&apos;s alone in this world, this film touched my heart on a very deep level. <br>There are more of us like Sarah, who are abandoned by family, than people realize. <br>If only we all had friendships like this one. They had so much in common, and gave so much to each other&apos;s hearts that no one else could fill.<br>Thank you for posting this film.

  I have been someone&apos;s daughter, I have been someone&apos;s wife, I have been someone&apos;s mother, but now I would like to be myself. &nbsp;This are words of wisdom and very kind way of rejecting men. &nbsp;What a lovely story. &nbsp;Thank you for sharing.

  marvelous, heartwarming movie of a woman forgotten by her relatives but seen by a good stranger. He had time to listen and help her recall her cherished memories and love, in turn found his own.<br>great movie

  What a tender moment this film, Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, is—a quiet ode to the dignity of age and to those unexpected bonds that mend the heart. Seeing Joan Plowright again, a sovereign of subtlety and grace, was a gift in itself, like rediscovering a voice one thought lost. <br> <br>And perhaps it&apos;s my Canadian perspective, but I love these works from elsewhere, far removed from American artifice: they carry in their love stories a modesty, a humanity, a light that Hollywood can neither imitate nor even begin to sense.
