I absolutely loved the luchadores. One of the main reasons I watched during that time

I was a huge Hector Garza fan once I got to see him on TV. He didn't make the corkscrew plancha simply special... he made it and everything he did in the air look effortless. Others jumped and had great athleticism, he soared, flew, glided(?), even.

Psicosis is my dude ! I even met him once at an indy show in KY , even came to my house later and partied with me and a few friends and two other Luchadores whos names i have frustratingly forgot . Super cool that guy ! I even put in tapes of him from Tiajuana (like a fn mark lol) doing crazy stuff like Sentons off a cage to the floor etc.. !!! He was like " how YOU have these tapes ? I dont even have them ! " Crazy night ill never forget !!!!!

Side note on Garza....when he was in TNA, he was scheduled for a push, but surprisingly, got deported due to drug possession right before January 2005's Final Resolution PPV. His scheduled opponent had he wrestled that night? Scott Hall. Could have seen Hall put him over once more, but alas, Jeff Hardy ended up in that match instead. R.I.P to both Garza & Hall.

The cruiserweight division was the main reason why I watched WCW. It was stacked with amazing luchadores, as well as some awesome technical wrestlers.

While not from Mexico, Ultimo Dragon & Jushin Thunder Liger deserve special mentions.

Props to Blitzkrieg also, an amazing luchador. His match against the Juice on PPV blew me away as a teen

Garza and many of of the luchadores either went to TNA WWE or ROH when WCW died in early 00s or went back to Mexico

I'm positive that if he had hung around longer, Blitzkrieg would have been in the conversation.
