  Mullvad has a proven no-logs policy. When the Swedish government raided their offices, they left empty-handed - because there was nothing to find. Mullvad doesn’t store user data, and that real-world event backed up their claims.

  My sister signed up with a VPN service and next month she was pregnant. She thought she would be protected but clearly not.

  Always love when YouTubers are promoting a certain VPN saying its the only one they trust but then a month later when another VPN offers more money they flip the script.

  I trust VPNs to stop me from getting copyright infringement notices. I&apos;m convinced this is why 99% of ppl have a VPN, but it&apos;s hard to advertise this.

  I use mine to watch tennis. Once upon a time all day tennis was broadcast in the US through NBC, CBS. Then it went to limited coverage. Then it disappeared and you could only see it on basic cable. Then basic cable removed it and put it into the tennis channel. Then you needed a combo of espn, tennis channel 1, 2 and 3.....now i just vpn to France and UK where their public tv have full coverage of entire matches not just 15min here and there like ESPN. Not only that but they cover most of the courts instead of just center court. It&apos;s immensely better than anything free or paid in the US.

  There&apos;s been a huge surge in VPN usage here in the UK, fgollowing the introduction of the Online Safety Act. I reckon that&apos;s going to happen across most of the world before too long.

  I know they inevitably have access to IP addresses, etc. but the fact that mullvad is okay with having no idea who I am puts them in the number 1 spot for me

  About the &quot;questionable reasons to use VPN&quot;, being worried about public wifi and ISPs: in some countries, companies that offer public wifi are required by law to log your data to identify you as a user. Unless you want to read up on a country&apos;s legislation before travelling there, using a VPN service definitely makes sense. Another point: by using a public wifi, you are also trusting their security setup and whatever DNS server they provide to your device. By using a VPN provider, you essentially only need to verify that one provider, rather than all the networks you might connect to.

  &quot;You don&apos;t trust your ISP&quot;<br><br>Given that ISPs can and have sold customer data (according to the FTC), I would say it&apos;s a more valid than questionable reason. Not to mention the service monopolies &amp; duopolies ISPs have in many regions, which limits the whole &quot;vote with your wallet&quot; by going to a different company. I&apos;m not ignoring the glaring issue of &quot;trust transfer&quot;, but if it came down to it I&apos;d probably trust something like Mullvad more than my ISP.

  for people in countries where the internet is heavily restricted, VPNs are a godsend.
