  That’s why I just collect things that I like/make me happy. If they are worth something in the future, cool.

  If you don't need the money, the sentimental value is worth more. I have things from my childhood and things from my husband who passed away. I enjoy the memories. Looking thru it all brings back happier times. That's priceless.😢

  "Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay" can translate to "a fool and their money are soon parted" very quickly.

  the great thing about print encyclopedias is that you often ran across things you never heard of while flipping thru the pages.<br>that can&apos;t happen when you just type what you want into a search bar. 😞

  Funko Pops is another collectable that aren&apos;t worth much because, the market has been flooded by them. Some stores refuse to buy them unless they are a very rare variant

  I remember when we were told that our Beanie Babies collection would be worth millions, only to end up terribly disappointed.

  Barbie dolls, Baseball ⚾ cards, Beanie Babies, Happy Meal toys, Hot Wheels 🏎️, Pokémon cards and VHS tapes 📼 were definitely the vibe in the 90&apos;s 😊❤️. Man that era was just different 😢💔.

  I don&apos;t necessarily collect Barbie, but I still have my 1960 Barbie, Ken, Midge, clothes, and her house from my childhood. &nbsp;At age 6 when I got Barbie, I said, &quot;Goodbye, baby dolls! &nbsp;It&apos;s fashion dolls for me now!&quot;

  Keep in mind there can be exceptions for some items even among those usually not worth a lot. for example, the VHS release of Song of the South, which was NOT released in the US but was in some international markets has a high value due to it being banned and will never be released again due to the content.
