  This story is crazy. Would any sane person let nearly 40 strangers have full rein in a 3 bedroom home and then just leave them alone?  That many people couldn’t even make it through the front door. Nonsense.

  Leaving is NOT the answer.<br>No one is sleeping in my house or using my house for themselves.<br>And no one makes demands of me and MY house.<br>I would change the locks, install cameras and a security system.<br>When she came over and she went through your fridge I would have escorted her out.

  Evict the Son and DIL for trying to remove Mom from her own bedroom. What utter stupendous temerity!<br>Glad Mom protected her room and stood up for herself!

  This daughter-in-law story was heartbreaking. Giving her mother someone else’s room without permission was incredibly disrespectful. Locking the door and leaving made such a powerful statement!

  I refuse to listen to stories where the individual is an idiot- leaving your house to be wrecked by others is an idiot move. Zero empathy for any of it

  I would not leave strangers in my house. No way. They would not stay there. The DIL think she owns the house. The son is no good. A whimp of a man. He should be on Mom&apos;s side.

  I would&apos;ve laughed in there faces and point out and tell them point blank that &quot;this is MY house not yours I pay the bills you don&apos;t and the fact you couldn&apos;t be bothered to talk to me in advance makes me wonder why my son chose you as his life partner. I&apos;m not running or motel or airbnb and I&apos;m sure as hell not cooking for 22 extra people in my house while I do all the work and you people get to be lazy. My kitchen is closed so is my house and for future references no volunteering my house for whatever you have in mind&quot;
