You missed one other big sticking point for some of the hate. 2 years ago he laid off 800 people while boasting about record profits to investors and giving himself a huge bonus.

There's a few more reasons you missed why Activision is hated:
6. Massive layoffs despite receiving record profits. Along with overpaying the CEO
7. The many, many companies shutdowns and dismantling of companies into smaller groups into an oversaturated series
8. The Downfall of Blizzard Entertainment, along with the infamous Blitz-Chun event
9. The awful Sexual Harassment/Misconduct workplace that surrounds the workplace.
(Edit: I need to add a 9th bullet point because of recent events)

EA: We force and underpay out workers to over work them selves to death.
Ubisoft: We sexually harass our employees to the point of suicide.

Activision: I can do both and proud of it.

The posted record profits and then fired 800 people the next week. Even the board of directors started to question Bobby Kotick’s pay. He did take a pay cut recently but when your own board is saying the CEO makes to much (he was making the most in the industry at the time) that shows something is out of whack

I wish you hadn't glossed over the Blizzard merge. That was a massive catalyst for their current reputation and I know there's a lot to cover there. I understand why you skipped it in the interest of the video length, but it's the area I believe a lot of folks including myself focus on.

How to make a hated game company (the "EA / Activision way"):

1. Start a company trying to credit game devs more
2. Make modest incomes
3. get bought out by investors, who care more about profits over people
4. buy out small game studios and milk their loved franchises to death
