What this guy dont understand is. In the desert the moon and the stars light up the land at night, almost like the sun in the day. Im from sothern new mexico. In the country you drive down the dirt roads without headlights at midnight

It’s easy to forget that without modern lighting, night in the ancient world was total darkness. The reliance on simple oil lamps made every night riskier, especially with scorpions, snakes, and guards patrolling the streets!
