  I spent over 15 years of my life as a correctional officer in Florida—first in county jails, and later in a maximum-security state prison. During that time, I witnessed hundreds of stories just like this gentleman’s. I would estimate that nearly 70% of the inmates I encountered came from the same kind of background: single-parent households, deep poverty, parents battling addiction or cycling in and out of jail, and absolutely no real chance at a stable or “normal” life. I even saw fathers incarcerated alongside their sons, and siblings serving time together. So when I hear a story like this—someone who spent more of his life behind bars than on the streets, yet comes out determined to help kids avoid the same path—it truly means something. Voices like his are incredibly valuable. Individuals who have lived this reality should be part of the curriculum in high schools and middle schools, sharing their stories and helping young people understand the real consequences of their choices. Kudos to you, sir. May God bless you for using your past to build a better future for others. 🙏

  Born &amp; raised in Miami. I remember when I first started traveling &amp; realizing how messed up the city is. <br>We grew up seeing the flashy lifestyle, yet the legitimate ways to obtain that lifestyle were limited.

  What&apos;s more impressive is the guy who grew up with adversity and didn&apos;t let his surroundings define him. That&apos;s the guy that doesn&apos;t get his props ,the guy who put his head down and worked to better his life and his families life. &nbsp;But that&apos;s not a sensational story.

  McDuffie Riots ? Overtown / Liberty City Riots of 1981 ? Crazy times in Miami -- Marianna boat lift,( like in the Scarface movie ?) South Florida in the early 1980&apos;s was wild West.

  Bo Diddley, Convertible Bert, Turnpike Ike, Big Trav, and Bossman were big time Miami drug dealers in the 80s. They were so big I was born in 89 and heard of them in the 2000s when I was going to school in Broward County.

  I like how he mentioned how huge NWA was. Even in Miami. Even when Luke and 2livecrew was hot and burning up the charts in Miami, NWA really spoke for the streets. From the Westcoast to the dirty south. Eazy resonated with Liberty City, Overtown, etc.
