Cowboy Like Me is a fan favorite and has a cool Western American vibe. Thanks for doing a breakdown -- really enjoyed it, FYI - He isn't named in the credits, but the guy doing the background vocals is Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons). During the pandemic, Taylor was using his home studio to write/record and he jumped in to play on the track. He loves this song too and Mumford & Sons play it often in their concerts.

"Covered up with some tent like thing"

Is one of her best writing choices. So much exposition in a couple words

"I'm never gonna love again" can have two vastly different meanings. As in I'm never gonna love again because it's not worth it or is it I'm never gonna love again because I found my everlasting love?

Cowboy Like Me is such a gem. So different from her usual song builds. Drops you right into the story arc, vividly.

This is a true hidden gem in her discography. The musicality is so unique and the atmosphere in the bridge is so well built, it really stays with you. Thanks for analysing this! Not an easy one as it’s not a traditional structure for sure.

Lovely work as always... and so many musical cross references to look up!
I wonder whether you're already working on a 'Patient Zero' reaction. If not, please do! ❤

I thought that the section that starts with ‘And the skeletons in both our closets…’ was the bridge.

I don't have time to watch this until later, but I had to comment and say I'm so excited about this! This song is in my top five of her entire discography even though I haven't been relentlessly requesting it.

Oh man - I’ve been waiting for you to analyze this song for a very long time. I’m almost afraid 😆. It’s a top 3 Taylor song for me. I think it brings together her country roots with her lyrics and storytelling skills in a very distinctive way. Looking forward to seeing it through your eyes!
