Carmila's abuse of Hector most likely mirrors how her master abused her. The classic dynamic of the abused becoming exactly like their abusers.

When she killed her master, she smiled at first but then the smile quickly faded It shows that she first thought killing him would make her satisfy but it is not Nothing can satisfy her anymore so she keeps seeking more power

Carmila’s death is significant, too. She  “took” her own life, rather than allow a man to take it from her. As a final act, it underscored her values perfectly.

I like Carmilla as a contrast to Dracula in the show. They’re both people utterly defined by their moment of greatest pain and their inability to ever let go of it. The difference is Dracula’s pain is relatively fresh, still an active and evolving part of him, whereas Carmilla’s is so old it has ossified into the core of her very being. Dracula can still have a moment of shattering revelation that takes the pain that moved him from merely a dangerous person with a grotesque past to an omnicidal maniac, and turns it against itself even if just for a moment. He can accept and surrender that pain when he realises it is the ghost of love. Carmilla cannot and does not, ever. Her pain is built into her deeper enough she can function quite precisely and rationally around it where Dracula Barry exists at times, but it is such a part of her she would almost cease to exist without it. In the end, that pain is so much greater than the fear of death that when death is the only alternative to potentially going back to that loss of power and control, she is nearly enthusiastic about dying.

Funny thing though she may have intended it as an insult, calling Issac "The least interesting man in Dracula's court" but coming from her, Issac took that as a compliment. As he knew the only interest Camilla has in men is how she can use them and/or take from them which his case was nothing. Issac could not be manipulated by Camilla nor could she take anything away from him and they both knew it.😂

I heard once that the reason she hates Isaac/ finds him boring, is because she dosen't have anything she can use to manipulate him. He's not attracted  nor afraid of her. Not swayed by material possession. Does not go seeking for more power that he could not get for himself and was loyal to Dracula to a fault.

I love how she cosplays as every character she analyzes its real dedication to the part! Literally getting into their shoes. As for my thoughts about Carmilla i think she is a victim of the patriarchy and the social structures of the time. She was probably treated as property her entire life and abused during her afterlife and she is angry she cant retaliate against men with not just anger of the social structures of the time but also the trauma that she endured in the past as in Striga's and Morana's talks they address she has nightmares of her time being abused. She wants to take everything from everyone else so she doesnt have to worry about having everything taken from her again as well as to have agency. And thats why her fight with Isaac ended that way. Its not Isaac taking everything from her its her  having a sense of agency and choice in choosing to die by her own hands rather than by the hands of someone who is adamant in taking everything from her in the name of revenge

Carmilla was the series' definition of a Vampire: "There's always blood to be drunk somewhere on the next field" Her spite against the world and her selfishness only made it worse. Hell, I'd argue that half the reason she pointed out Dracula never made Lisa into a Vampire, even calling her a pet, was because she was jealous deep down od what he had with her. Especially since she was turned and then emotionally and phisically abused until she broke. She either won't let herself or is no longer phisically capable of having that kind of relationship with someone. Even with her closest friends, her vampire sisters, she basically shuts them out once she's left to her own devices. Carmilla is a pitiable character , but Isaac had the right idea when he decided the world was better off without her.

The tragedy of it is she succumbed to the very madness she killed her sire for. In that sense she was doomed from the start.

As much as i hate it, i have to admit that i can empathize with Carmilla. Cruelty in my past has lead me to be very quick to bristle at the first sign that i might be dealing with someone similar to those who have wronged me; it takes a lot of mental effort to catch myself and think twice about the situation in those instances.
