The Three Days of Darkness: The Stigmatist Who Bled Every Friday for 68 Years

The Three Days of Darkness: The Stigmatist Who Bled Every Friday for 68 Years In 1873, a university professor of medicine traveled to a farmhouse in rural Brittany to examine a farmer's daughter who had been bleeding from her hands, feet, and side every Friday for six months. He spent years studying her. His conclusion: no fraud at La Fraudais. The diocesan commission that had examined her six months earlier reached the opposite conclusion in twenty-four hours. Marie-Julie Jahenny bled every Friday for sixty-eight years. She reportedly survived on the Eucharist alone for five of those years. She dictated more than three thousand recorded visions to a rotating team of secretaries across six decades. One of those visions described three days of total darkness that would cover the earth, during which only blessed beeswax candles would give light, and anyone who opened a window to look outside would die immediately from what they saw. The archive that holds her complete testimony is restricted. The cause for beatification has never been formally opened. The candles are still being sold. This is the story of the farmer's daughter from La Fraudais — what the physicians found, what the bishops decided, what the archive contains, and what none of them have been able to stop. ──────────────────────────────── 📖 CHAPTERS ──────────────────────────────── 00:00 - Opening: No Fraud at La Fraudais 02:27 - Chapter 1: The Girl from La Fraudais 06:45 - Chapter 2: The Wounds and What They Did to Her 13:52 - Chapter 3: The Investigation Files 20:11 - Chapter 4: The Three Days of Darkness 28:13 - Chapter 5: What the Church Actually Said 34:55 - Chapter 6: 68 Years — The Life the Stigmata Made 41:58 - Chapter 7: The Comparison: What Science Can and Cannot Settle 49:26 - Epilogue: La Fraudais, Today ──────────────────────────────── 🔬 CASE FACTS ──────────────────────────────── Subject: Marie-Julie Jahenny (1850–1941) Location: La Fraudais, Blain, Loire-Atlantique, Brittany, France Stigmata Period: March 21, 1873 — October 24, 1940 (68 years) Type: Stigmatic · Prophetess · Catholic Mystic Key Investigator: Dr. Antoine Imbert-Gourbeyre, Professor of Medicine, University of Clermont-Ferrand Investigation Finding: "No fraud at La Fraudais" — Imbert-Gourbeyre, 1894 Diocesan Commission Finding (1873): "Simulation during a nervous episode" Primary Prophecy: Three Days of Darkness — first recorded September 20, 1882 Archive Status: Fonds Marie-Julie Jahenny, Diocese of Nantes — restricted access Diocesan Position (2019): Official call for prudence regarding circulating prophetic materials Beatification Cause: Never formally opened ──────────────────────────────── 📚 SOURCES ──────────────────────────────── • Dr. Antoine Imbert-Gourbeyre — La Stigmatisation, l'extase divine et les miracles de Lourdes (2 vols., Clermont-Ferrand: L.
