I work in Japan and sometimes I use English and everytime I open my mouth foreigners customers are like “are you Italian” 🤣I want to say no I’m Japanese ahah I don’t like my strong accent xD

I am Italian, the older generations do not speak English at all, with some exceptions. The younger generations studied English at school, somebkdy speaks better but in general you cannot compare our average level in English with the level one finds in Northen Europe. <br><br>In Naples I found many people who spoke Spanish very very well. 😮 this language is very popular in that city. Maybe because of Maradona? 😁

I am a foreigner living in Naples, yes as the young girl said, younger people speak English, but it is very rare to find some who speak English.

The answer is NO. Only in tourist places and among the young you'll find some italians able to maintain a decent conversation in english. In small, rural areas, forget it. Italy is probably one the worst places in Europe to communicate in english, nor even in France it's so bad.

My first language is Spanish, and English is exclusively for work , however I’ve always felt an affinity for Italian, I’ll learn it one day 🤗
