  It&apos;s mindsets like those men hating women that makes us guys (myself included) a little hesitant about trying to date women. Like, some guys didn&apos;t do anything wrong but we&apos;re just automatically hated because of our gender.

  To me, telling a man to &quot;pay for the bill&quot; is no different from telling a woman to &quot;make a sandwich&quot;. &nbsp;It&apos;s nice when they do it, but when you say it&apos;s their &quot;job&quot;, it stops being a sweet gesture and turns into a tedious chore.

  Important to note about the percentage of people who leave their lovers when they have mental illness. That study was actually recanted by the very people who performed it. Turns out it&apos;s way lower and isn&apos;t very different between men and women.

  So one very specific note. The study about the “20% men leave their terminally ill partners” is not a very researched subject. It comes from a singular, 500 person study from 2008. This topic is severely lacking in research, and honestly if it’s being referenced so much it needs to be expanded upon. The second issue, these are terminal illnesses we are talking about. That is a hard ask regardless of gender, and the study itself actually references a sentiment common amongst both genders, “It just doesn’t feel like they’re the same person anymore.” It’s not easy, and while I won’t agree nor condone it, it’s understandable why people would do it.

We&apos;d tell that guy that he needs to grow up and take responsibility for his own actions.<br>There&apos;s PLENTY of guys who get some really nasty stuff happening to them from their moms/wives/GFs and not only are they expected not to be bitter about it - but if they are, we immediately go and tell him &quot;That is not okay. Your past history does not excuse your behavior.&quot;<br>But we are SO so so SO happy to just shrug and excuse away a woman&apos;s behavior with the same thing? It&apos;s infantilizing and holy heck does that REALLY set us women back every single time we reinforce the notion that our actions are not in our control.
