We come across a lot of stones like that in our area; they are very heavy and shiny—especially the dark reddish-brown ones and the black ones—but we don't know where to sell them. Where I live, people usually just throw them away, not realizing they could actually be sold.

I found a rock that I believe to be a meteorite for the following reasons; The rock has a fusion crust. It's surface is covered in regmaglypts. It is very heavy and dense. It has no internal porosity. It has internal features that may be flecks of metal, and it contains a yellow mineral I believe is olivine or pyroxene. The rock is not magnetic. Unfortunately, I found it in river cobbles and the outer crust has been eroded by water, sand, and time. It isn't as "pretty" as most of the meteorites you see online.

I want to have the rock examined and analyzed to find whether it really is a meteorite, or just an interesting terrestrial rock, and I'd be more than happy to pay a reasonable fee for the analysis. Can you provide some guidance about how to get a sample analyzed by a lab? I don't know what kind of testing or analysis would be required. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
