thank you for going in depth into Korra's PTSD. as a person with trauma-related issues, Korra's journey resonates deeply with me since I watched the show for the first time as a teenager. i am a grown woman now and I still see myself in Korra.

ngl as a disabled person and a former “gifted kid” this hit me hard. korra’s arc after the poisoning is one of the only times i’ve felt genuinely seen in media—it captures the burnout, the isolation, the shame of not “bouncing back” fast enough. the way she withdraws, doubts her worth, and slowly learns to accept herself beyond just being “the strong avatar” feels so real.

that said… i kinda wish they hadn’t given her all the elements back so quickly at the end of book 1. part of what makes her recovery arc later so powerful is the fragility and the uncertainty. rushing her return early on softened the impact. i get why they did it, but as someone who knows what it’s like to lose pieces of yourself and not get them back, i wanted the show to lean harder into that permanence.

still, korra’s journey with trauma + disability is one of the most validating narratives i’ve seen. strength in struggle, not in perfection.

Thx for this video. It is often difficult to articulate why I find Korra an engaging protagonist, especially when left dumbstruck by what some critics and haters will say about her.

Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.

I love how despite starting out as a brute she develops into an empath, not because of cultural tradition like Aang with his catchphrase "the monks taught us..." but because she takes in her experiences and evolves from them. ATLA was all about becoming more powerful than the firelord, but I love how Korra's ultimate arc is to become stronger through every way other than literal physical strength

All ima say is seeing korra in thar wheelchair sad and helpless, years of of doubt after having overcome so much, absolutely broke me. Its hard to watch but could u imagine how she felt ,raising so high and falling so far and then Having to live with that level of helplessness and pain for that long.

Korra's arc in the beginning of season 4 resonates with me a lot, because I went through a similar journey. Over a 2 year period, I lost my father, and broke apart mentally. I withdrew into my shell, unable to function, and it was years before I could return to my chosen field. I still feel the effects of that, like years of my life were stolen from me.

OMG yes, Korra appreciation! Her arc in the shows is insane and was so needed for me to expierence that when I was growing up. I view her as a big sister I always wanted to have.
