I was 8 years old when I got home from school one day to see my dad playing a new game he'd just picked up. He was trudging through the brutal Yarnham streets with his saw cleaver, and I was entranced by the gothic beauty of it all, by the terrifying beasts and the satisfying spray of blood when he slew them. A little over an hour passed, and he had to go to work. The second he left, I got on the playstation, made my character, and began my journey through this Victorian hell. I picked the threaded cane, because It seemed unique, and I quickly regretted that decision when I realized how many more hits it took for me to slay a beast than for my father. I met Gascoigne before the cleric beast, that very same day, and I'll never forget that fight and how it made me feel because that was the battle and the moment that made me a Souls player for life. A few days later, I remember watching my dad and his friend struggle over and over again in co-op to defeat Vicar Amelia. By some incredible stroke of luck, I managed to beat her in my first try, before my dad and his friend could. I was so excited and proud of myself that I asked mom for her phone to call my dad, bothering him at work to boast about my achievement. Currently getting towards the end of a platinum run of the game, and now after all this experience it feels mindless and effortless at times, but I'll never forget how much that stubborn 4th grader struggled against the likes of Micolash, Ebrietas, Kos, or some say Kosm, and Laurence. I'll never forget how my heart immediately began to race as Gehrman stood from his chair and drew his massive scythe. I'll never forget the haunting score of that battle, the flowing field of flowers or how it turns from a beautiful and sorrowful dance of blood and blades to a duel of desperation between the two most skilled and powerful humans alive. God I love Bloodborne

6:16 The beast isn’t reaching out to hurt you, its claws are upturned, beckoning.

When the blood moon descends and you hear the baby crying far in the distance. Such an amazing game.
