The first time I heard this song was when I was hanging insulation in a crawlspace. I had my earbuds in and I was wearing a tyvek suit and I couldn't get to my phone, so I had Spotify playing. This song came on and I just remember thinking "wtf am i listening to" and I wanted to skip it but I couldn't get to my phone under the suit, so I just let it play.
When I got home I downloaded the entire album 😂

The most crucial line in this song is the opening line. "I remember every little thing as if it happened only yesterday " . This is a middle aged couple, who have been married many years, and now they're sick of each other. It explains
how he "swore upon my God and my Mother's grave" He did marry her, but now after 15 or 20 years together they are both sick of each other and they are both " praying for the end of time"

So many people miss the very first line of the song and if you do, it makes the end of the song pretty confusing. This is a couple who has been married for a long time, who got married for all the wrong reasons, and they are telling us that what lead to them being in the situation they find themselves in now was one night in the car trying to find paradise by the dashboard light. Amazing story telling.

I have always been a massive fan of Meatloaf sadly he passed a few years ago. Never got to see him perform LIVE on Stage😢😢😢😢. I have over 4,000 vinyl LP records and in my late teens onwards purchased 2 copies of a new LP. One for normal use and the Second copy was shrink wrapped and kept in storage. I possess EVERY record Meatloaf ever released. He was also a terrific Actor . THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW being most fans favorite, playing EDDIE riding his motorbike, and the brilliant TIM CURRY playing one of the Leading roles. RIP Meat, many of your loyal international fans gonna be a missing ya perform. Congrats to your non interruption, and allowing the show/song to end without any pausing. Then add your reactions. I really get annoyed when ppl constantly Stop/Start.

Fun fact: Karla DeVito didn't sing the vocals to this song. She's only in the music video after the original singer (Ellen Foley) declined to go on tour with Meat Loaf, so he filmed the music video without her.
