  Just wanna say, if we didn’t have those tornado chasers, we wouldn’t know half of what we do about tornadoes. It’s incredibly dangerous and yes, people have died doing it, but the data they’ve gathered has saved innumerable lives.

  Tornadoes can be bizarre because it can destroy one side of a street and the other side still has flowers in the garden.

  Here in the Midwest, it's a joke/meme how dads will tell their family to go down to the basement during a tornado, but then proceed to stand out on the front porch and just stare down the tornado like they're Captain America until it either calms down and dissipates or gets close enough to force them inside lol

  The sirens don't always go off. Sometimes the tornados form and touchdown before anyone knows. And even when they do go off, it's usually just a few minutes ahead. The news can let you know that there is a high probability of a tornado but you don't know where or when one will form and touch down until it does.

  If you&apos;re in the &quot;eye&quot; of a tornado, you&apos;re probably dead. the &quot;eye&quot; of a tornado is like the middle of a blender where instead of blades ripping you apart its all the wood/trees/building parts that shred you apart

  Hurricanes and tornadoes are both powerful storms, but hurricanes form over water, are large and can last for days, while tornadoes form over land, are smaller and shorter-lived.

  One thing about tornadoes is, you can&apos;t always see them even during the day. Sometimes the base of the tornado is SO BIG that it just appears to be dark rain clouds on the horizon (or sometimes the tornado itself is wrapped in a big rainstorm, hiding it). It&apos;s hard to know how to respond in that situation because it&apos;s very difficult to even tell what direction the tornado is moving in.

  That last one is the 2015 Fairdale, Illinois tornado. The guy filming was 85 year old Clarence &quot;Clem&quot; Schultz. &nbsp;He survived with some injury to his back, but his wife and an elderly neighbor died. &nbsp; The phone with this video was found undamaged after the storm and the video was shown everywhere

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jb2lqaCGa98&amp;t=354">5:54</a> sometimes tornados can get rain wrapped, meaning you can’t see the tornado because the rain is too heavy. These are, for obvious reasons, very dangerous

  The reason you can&apos;t see it sometimes is because it&apos;s rain wrapped. Literally spinning so much rain around it, that it shrouds it.
