  im a new revert alhamdelillah. i used to play video games a lot, listen to music, smoke weed..... let me tell you it might feel good in the moment but at the end of the day, you feel empty and you feel depressed. I love this lecture because he hits everything spot on. When I have children insh a Allah i won't allow tv/violent games, However it is very important as Muslims to have good fun safe alternatives, otherwise the kids will end up going to all of this bad stuff.

  I have a problem with video games, especially war games. Just realized I have 4,000 hours playtime (i saw it on the program log),  that is 166 days!! and I only know 3 Surahs!! What the hell!! I even forgot Arabic. This is a wake up call for me

  We never had a TV in our parents home. After marriage I and my husband decided not to have one. Yet today the greatest fitna is the internet. I'm battling it all the time and I  pray to Allah to grant me strength to overcome the obsession and have mercy on my family and the Muslim youth. May Allah guide all those Muslims who are addicted to gaming, pornography, etc. Ameen

  I’m listening only to Qur’an and khutbas like this I DON’T watch any TV nor movies for the last 10 years and I feel better than before

  This is so scary, the way we normalise all this music, films, games and downplay the seriousness of them and the impact they can have, not realising how harmful they are. May Allah protect us all, ameen.

  As a young adult who lived in North America most of his life, I watched this video for the first time a few years ago. It opened my eyes to not only the influence of the media on the world but also how almost each of these things effected me in a negative way from the age of 10 onwards. I am 26 now and have learned to be more wary of these things. InshAllah, I hope Allah allows all the young muslims like me who got trapped by music, movies, gaming, etc. to see it for what it is -- just another distraction to keep us from our true goal to worship Allah. Ameen.

  I used to love music. Hamdulilah by Allahs will now with podcasts becoming more popular... I only listen to talks, debates and Qu'ran recitations and discussions. It's honestly shifted my perspective
