  You got to understand, Bird not only was the father of the 50/40/90 club, he achieved that twice in his career in the most physical era of the league, today's era you cannot touch anyone and Lebron never achieved that stat in his career as of today. Bird wasn't shooting 100 3's per game back then like it is today, Bird shot 1.9 3's per game for a career average, he weaponized the 3 point shot, and shot them when they truly counted, after demoralizing them by telling them what he was going to do, then do it. Larry won the 3 point shootout 3 consecutive times when it was first introduced, and probably would have won it for a forth year in a row if it wasn't for the normally career ending surgery he needed on both Achilles heels, and played 75 games out of 82 the next season after having that kind of surgery back then. Bird also had the highest basketball I.Q. in the history of the league, he could see 2 plays ahead and be in the right place, he didn't care about building his stats like players today, he wanted his whole teammates involved because all he really cared about was winning, and there are things about Bird you just can't put stats on or percentages. Larry had no holes in his game, and 3 consecutive MVPs show that, he dominated the league especially in the mid 80's, and frankly he would be playing the same way today, and find it even easier to psychologically damage players like he did back then. Bird is a once in a lifetime player. ☘️

  Larry Bird grew another inch in the NBA. He was a legitimate 6'10". His perimeter shot was impossible to be blocked. He is the best small forward of all, with all due respect to LeBron.
