UPDATE: thanks for the feedback, the cover DOES stow into the trunk, here's a quick update video demonstrating how it works: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HLO87WwErJs

One thing that was not mentioned in the review was the Tesla purchasing experience which I rate as exceptional. No Additional Dealer Markups, no hyper aggressive sales associates, nice/calm test drives, efficient, and no game playing. Also, the Tesla mobile app is extremely well thought out and is so easy to use.

I didn’t even talk about the security aspect of the Sentry mode cameras. That’s a game changer.

This is my first Tesla and FSD is incredible. I have put about 1,300 miles on the car both city and freeway commuting and according to the app 96% of those miles in FSD without a single issue! GAME CHANGER!!!!!!

Self parking and summon. To have a car at this price point that does everything as well as park itself is amazing. The summon feature is a bit clunky, but used it on a rainy day at the mall and it saved me from getting completely soaked. The sound system great, the car is solid. The thick a pillars have not even been a concert and know that I would survive it flipping onto its roof. One of the safest cars I've ever driven.
The cameras keep you from pulling into a curb with on screen warnings.

The only negative I have noticed is that it will beep at you as soon as the light is green from red....it's reaction time is faster than me at times lol. But it keeps me honest checking my phone at stop lights.
FSD is incredible but not perfect. Literally knows when to proceed at 4 way stops and so far has made safe turn from main road. FSD even saw a speed bump in a parking lot and slowed for it. Attention to these details is an engineering feat that can only be commended

My wife bought a '26 model Y a couple months ago. She traded in her Porsche Cayenne and quite honestly we havent looked back. Once you install the 50amp plug at home charging is a breeze. She did use a supercharger once during a road trip without issue. The Y is fast. Really fast. FSD was surprisingly good. It would goof up every now and then but for 99.9% of the time is was perfect. I said was good because after the 3 month free trial we did not pay to keep it and she has been asking about it ever since. To date, based on Michigan electricity rates, we have spent $217 on electric to travel 4,123 miles or 5.2 cents/mile.

The buying experience was lightyears ahead of other manufacturers. I bought a F150 recently and was going to pay with a check. It still took over a hour to complete the sale. With Tesla, we completed the 9 or so tasks through the Tesla App, showed up and drove away within 10 minutes.

The biggest challenge with the car has been exploring the settings available for customization. There are a ton of things that can be personalized and things can get burried in the system.

There are over 170 voice commands that greatly reduces the need to use the screen.

I’m a former submariner (Permit class) and a nuke. We’d do pre-underway checks to set up the boat for sea. Once in the standard ready to go configuration, operating the boat is easy. My 2023 Model Y is the same way. Once pre-flighted, you almost never touch the display day to day. The saved profile includes all the operator preferences, not just seats and mirrors. The “key” used to open the vehicle loads the operator’s profile.

As 80 year couple, the FSD was the ONLY reason we bought a 2023 model Y. It can be scary and definitely requires attention, but a total game changer for night driving and much less stressful when doing longer trips. Also, great to have the car make the go decision when you have to look back over your shoulder at a Y intersection! Need to do your reviews not just from the perspective of a 30 year old with no physical limitations.

Only 60 seconds to discuss FSD seems like a disservice. It’s truly remarkable how good it is especially in the refreshed model Y.
