Let's be honest here. If someone had come along and not only brought you up out of total poverty but also built the country you live in into an economic powerhouse in the midst of the world's worst EVER economic collapse you would probably feel pretty grateful for that. You would probably also be willing to support that person in their political aims as well since they literally saved you from starvation.
