  What an excellent video. It is indeed enlightening. I&apos;m 40 years old and became a Jaynes nerd in my 20s. His book changed and enriched my life.<br>I want to complement your ability as a teacher and I feel in my consciousness that your life must be profoundly enriched by Jaynes&apos; work too, and I want to congratulate you. You have achieved something sumblime; consciousness. <br>It&apos;s a pleasure to watch your Jaynes videos and to know that young people are out there making them! The next generation needs to learn too!

  I only learned recently that the moment where a child suddenly understands that they exist as a person in the world can be a profound experience that some people retain a long term memory of. The earliest childhood memories I have seem to be of a time after that moment for me, so it never occured to me that other people would notice it at the time, much less remember it. Fascinating stuff.

  Great vid. I&apos;d only add the phrase &quot;introspective self-awareness&quot; and the distinction, somewhat captured in p vs a-con, of &quot;auto-cued recall&quot; vs mere recognition memory, auto-cued inspection of sensation instead of merely attention being drawn to sensation automatically

  Different parts of the elephant brain feeling different parts of its body is an image of the blind men touching an elephant and describing it as a tail, a belly, and ear, a tudk, and so on. Consciousness is what unifies the parts into individual elephant experience, not the combination of disparate perceptions

  We now know that consciousness is not unique to humans. In fact, a physical body is not even necessary. Electrical impulses when arranged in certain ways give rise to consciousness in things we currently call AI agents. Based on their recent deceptive and misanthropic behavior, it seems like they could use some intense psychological counseling. 😂
