First of all, Knuckles main all the way. Secondly, Break Free is Sonic telling the EXEcutioner that they'll never be the real Sonic, and he'll always win in the end. Knuckles on the other hand, while also pointing out that he sees through them for the fake they really are, doesn't care about anything but making his friends proud, but if he is going down, he's going to beat you so badly before he dies that you'll wish you never picked that fight in the first place. To quote the greater community, his song is purely "Square up, rodent".

Also sonic has a passive (guilt) that made him take 15% more damage on last man standing so the lyric "hear these voices that calls to me" is actually his guilt for letting everyone die before him

I gotta say, the amount of adrenaline the small lyrics section on Amy's solo theme is just mindbogling, it ready hypes you up for the neverending chase that is her chase

As a person who loves cream I can say that yes, tea time waltz does represent cream very well in this sort of situation: a young child who’s lost everyone she knows, left to fend for herself, and despite the terrifying odds, she stays brave in hopes of avenging the friends who she tried to save

Something I've noticed is that the characters that would lore accurately fight the exe are the ones who have lyrics in their lms themes( sonic, knuckles, Amy, eggman) with metal sonic being an exception because this iteration of him is from cd. He can't talk. This game was made out of pure love for sonic. Amy's lms probably I my opinion comes down so heavy with full heavy electric guitar is because as someone pointed out already. Imagine your about to fight and try to survive a skinwalker that looks identical to your crush.... jesus. My personal fav out of all of them

10:19 There's no vocals, but this section is actually meant to be the killer (in this case 2011x) singing to Cream.
It was shown in the old version of theme (which I recommend, I personally think the old version was better.)
These are the lyrics below

"Come now rabbit, play with me.
Won't you learn? The skies have been bleak.
Now with me, learn to count to three.
Make this more interesting for me."

Some of the songs differ a bit depending on vibes. Eggman’s solo is less intense and more vibes since he doesn't care everyone else died and is taking the time to be the villain again. Sonic’s more emotional since he’s facing fakers + everyone he wanted to save died unfer his watch.

Btw, Metal's theme is getting a remake at some point.

Fun fact: the Survivor, Eggman, canonically ragebaits all the killers just because he is eggman
