The blu ray for the movie had a great feature...you could watch the movie with a map in the lower part of the screen. Once the monster appears it is represented by a dot on the map so you can see where the monster is in relation to the characters.

A lot of critics, both professional and amateur, were complaining that the camera would have run out of battery before the night was over. They failed to recognize that the film length was the total length of the tape (85 min), which is plenty of time to run off of one battery.

Fun fact, they originally had the statue of liberty's head rolling down the street in the exact real size it actually is. Test audiences constantly complained it was too small even though it was real size. So they made it a lot bigger. Audiences still complained it was too small

When you realize Hud gets bitten literally in half at the end and his upper half falls to the ground. That little blood spray and chomp sound, still kinda gives me chills.

“10 Cloverfield Lane” is 100% worth the watch. John Goodman gives an excellent performance. I saw it in theaters and the crowd was sweating from anxiety

8:43 Out of all reactors, im genuinely suprised somebody actually figured that out this early into the movie, bravo sir.

I would absolutely not survive this event. Lots of people are honest about movies like this and say things like "I probably wouldn't survive." I definitely would die. As a wheelchair user, I can't help but spot all the scenes and situations where I'd never be able to move fast enough, or where my chair wouldn't be able to navigate, or where people need to climb/swim/etc. to reach safety. I don't think I've seen a disaster movie, monster movie, alien invasion or zombie movie yet that I'd realistically live through. But somehow, I never get tired of acknowledging all the terrible moments where I would die. I'm so cheery! ✌🤓

I was 11 years old attending public school in Manhattan on 9/11/2001. And yes, there was so much footage from cell phones and news camera men oblivious to what was about to happen until it happened. (referring to the skyscrapers crumbling) The comparison George said for Cloverfield being a metaphor for 9/11 seems very fitting, and I've never thought about this movie that way until this video.

Simone called it. The footage was shot on an 80 minute tape, hence the runtime.

The marketing for this movie leading up to the actual release was so freaking insane! There was nothing like it. They created MySpace pages for all the characters so you really get to know them and what was going on in their lives at the time this happens. They really did everything to make this movie feel so real.

Also the actress who played Beth is Odette Annable. Had the chance to meet her once a few years ago and she was just the sweetest person ever and a delight to talk to. At the time she was playing supervillain Reign on the show Supergirl, so while we were chatting a fan of the show came up with a comic book and asked if she could autograph it. Odette was so excited she gave me her own phone and asked if I could take a pic of them holding the comic book. It was just a cool encounter.

I remember hearing a lot of people had to leave the theater during this movie due to getting severe motion sickness... especially the front row seats.
