This lying fraud got off easy in my opinion. She should’ve gotten 50 years.

This doesn’t even get into how she legally terrorized former employees to stop them from becoming whistleblowers. She’s horrible.

I read a news article about Theranos around 2007-08 and was immediately skeptical. As an MD with a graduate degree in biochemistry, I knew that the chemistry and even the basic physics of blood testing could not be done on such a small blood sample. The technology simply didn't exist. I was not alone, most of my medical colleagues agreed that it sounded like fantasy. Holmes was successful because she evaded engagement with actual medical scientists (other than the ones she bought) and preyed on the scientific ignorance of computer tech fans and investors. It's incredible she got as far as she did. As far as I'm concerned her prison sentence should have been a lot longer.

She's not merely possessed of a degree of self-absorption that would glaze the eyes of Narcissus, she's greedy, cruel, and a genuine sociopath.

The pediatric private practice that my mom worked at received a visit from Theranos representatives, but the doctors didn't bite!

She managed a deal to be moved into a halfway house facility by August of 2027. She may be free by 2030. She's still scamming us...

As someone who's going through nursing school, this is horrifying. The first thing my Bio professor taught us is that you can run a test, and when the results come back, you are more than within your rights to diasgree with the conclusion and try again. But if the conclusion remains, then you have to accept it. Science isn't a democracy and you can't argue with results.
