Hello to all of my Healthcare brothers and sister!
The 2020 AHA Guidelines are out. I have posted the new videos for BLS, ACLS, and PALS: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhOFBB3AV9swkQ1KUodrLKmxvEbI3R0-R.
These changes will not take place until February 2021; however, these concepts are currently being taught in your courses. ☺️❤️

I found several on this channel helpful - I took my skills assessment today, and it went pretty easy (and for what it’s worth, I’m a security guard , with just a Red Cross CPR/AED/First aid cert. just a rundown of the test , at least the RQI solo, with the computer acting as 2nd rescuer.
1. Go in and log in on the computer/ put on gloves .
2. You can move stuff , check how the compressions are going to feel from ground, with a stool, remove the pad under the mannequin? I’m 6’6”, didn’t use the stool, or remove the pad.
3. There’s 6 sections: adult compressions only, adult respirations only , then the 2 person adult. For the 2 single element parts, you can select practice skill first. It completely walks you through the process. Also, I’d seen different rules regarding having your phone with you, I had mine, and I had a metronome app, preset to 110. The compressions for me were easy. I had more trouble with the breaths, as I’ve never used a bag before. Also for this , and later the infant breathing , my counting was too quick. The adult breaths are every 6 seconds , even counting out loud I frequently was too fast . Still I passed first time.
4. The two person adult starts with the computer doing compressions. You’re set up at the head for breaths - the breaths should just follow one right after the other , rather than waiting 6 seconds. After the 2nd time, it’s time to switch - it liked my switches, just set the bag down and get to it. Unbelievably I forgot to count my compressions both times during the first time doing compressions , and ran slightly long , i remembered to count the second 2 times doing compressions.
5. You then do the two solo activities on the infant . I used the two thumb method, and didn’t have any issues. The breath I again struggled with . The seal was tricky for me, and the small bag much more sensitive and the range of acceptable smaller. It was easier to go too light , or over correct and over inflate. I had to redo this once.
6. The 2 person infant like the adult, starts with the computer doing compressions. But it’s 15/2 now, and that runs up quickly on you . Nevertheless, after the breaths, I still went for the double thumb , it’s tempting to want to go one hand for speed , but I really think this system values consistent good depth compressions enough to cover other slight errors. One set of breaths on the 2-person infant I practically whiffed entirely on breath 1, then overdid it on breath 2, and still passed .

One last note: the testing I did was In a lone room, in one of those “executive suite” buildings , where different companies just rent out a room or two , and the receptionist is just a generic person who will let you into the room and nothing more. I had a computer issue , and had to call the number. They picked up very fast, and quickly walked me through the fix , so that was good.

Good luck everyone 👍
