  Some of this story was featured in the 1983 movie The Scarlet and The Black. Christopher Plummer  played SS Herbert Kappler, Gregory Peck played Father O'Flaherty and Sir John Gielgud played Pope Pius XII.

  Its interesting that Himmler was adamant, and this was recorded happening many times-that men who did not wish to execute unarmed Citizenry would be allowed to stand down, and take up other duties-although it could affect promotions etc. But Himmler is recorded as saying, &quot; this is duty that is very hard to do &quot;.   I&apos;ve watched videos on this channel for some time. This is probably one of the finest yet, both in the microscopic detail that Dr Felton has uncovered in relation to Priebke and also, and probably more importantly, in the discussion of the law in relation to war crimes that Priebke and his associated perpetrated. Thank you for your scholarship, your dedication to uncovering historical truth and facts, and for your brilliant presentation of these in compelling videos.

  Dear Dr. Felton, <br>I want to suggest a topic which should be very interesting to look more into it. <br>I’m currently studying at RWTH Aachen, doing my bachelor degree in social sciences. <br>And that’s kind of related to the topic, because at my university we had an ex SS-Officer, as head of university and nobody knew it. His real name was “Hans Ernst Schneider”, after the war he called himself “Hans Schwerte”.<br>He had a PhD in literature as an officer, after the war he did another one under his false name and worked his way up to the head of my university. <br>It took 50 years to blow his cover and it’s such an interesting story to look into. <br>Greetings from Aachen, Germany :)
